If you have been or are intending to visit Portugal for an inspection visit, depending upon how this is conducted you can well end up believing that the whole country is a builders yard or a building site. If you have to make a claim you're not going to be told that it's not valid because you have been living in the property or that the roof or floors are not covered. It's a genuinely useful guarantee which you can safely rely on and which it is unlikely you will ever have to use.

Today in Portugal, buyers of new properties can expect double glazing, secure doors, insulation and construction approaching UK Standards. However, bear in mind, the climate dictates the majority of materials used, don't be supprised to see hugh amounts of concrete. Which then gets coversed with plaster and tiles. Property is expensive and becoming increasingly more so but can still represent value for money when compared to that available in the UK.

It remains to be seen whether the boom in Portuguese property continues, We believe that the property market will stall 2005. Prices are unlikely to change and sales will switch from new to resale properties.
